I once heard someone speak of being so full of the love of God and the Holy Spirit that it would "leak out" if someone poked you.
Meditating on that idea inspired this one.
Leaking Spirit
You filled me with Your spirit Lord
Now let me overflow
and leak Your love on everyone
and everywhere I go
My container once was broken
so if cracks can still be found
Just let them leak--
that way more of Your love
gets spread around
May I not mind the chips and cracks
That I can clearly see
Just let your overflow run down
and cover all those spots on me
It's not the number of repairs
or what shape my vessel's in
No matter how much love I leak
Your Spirit fills me up again
Your kingdom's full of mended jars
That once were broken too
and now made whole, our body, soul
and Spirit lives in You
We're not our own, Your Spirit's sown
Your Seed inside our hearts
and as it grows it reaches out
to help mend other's broken parts
Keep us, Lord from being proud
not forgetting how You found us
So we never judge the shape of all
the other jars around us
Our job is just to leak Your love
and leave a trail to You
and let all those around us know
They can be mended too
