Another one of my favorites because it came instantaneously as I typed.

I had no idea where It was going, but I think the Holy Spirit had a message for me...and maybe for you?

Rough Hewn

Rough hewn from evil

a cross was made

Born to die

a baby laid

in a manger

cold and bare

His heavenly Father

sent Him there

What kind of Dad

would send a Child

into a place

so rough and wild

knowing that

He'd have to die

for all the sins

of you and I?

It's hard for us

to understand

the depth of love

God has for man

That He would

sacrifice His Son

for all the sin

mankind has done

But God created

us to be

just like Him

and His Son you see

and seeing us

in bondage here

to satan, sickness,

sin and fear

He looked at us

with loving eyes

knowing that

beneath the guise

of sin and darkness

light still shone

reflected image

of His own

Our God gazed down

on all our pain

and made a way

that we could gain

access into

His better plan

restoring and

perfecting man

His only Son,

the living Way

was born of woman

Christmas Day

Tho knowing what

His path would be

He came and

followed willingly

Our elder brother

Lord of all

the Life we had

before the fall

before rebellion

took its toll and

etched sin stains

into our soul

Where would we be

if not for Him

for death must be

the wage of sin

and in our

stubbornness and pride

we'd lost touch with

the God inside

But Jesus came

and set us free

to live as we

were made to be

A cruel cross,

tormented death

a cry to God,

a parting breath

A plan complete

God's Best He sent

And in obedience

He went

The way to God

for all mankind

His victory over death

is mine

The darkness here

gave way to light

Sin conquered by

His power and might

A baby born

so we could see

God's awesome love

for you and me
