A minister acquaintance of mine told me of a dream/vision he had of Christians being connected like knots in a net.

The analogy really spoke to me.  It was the inspiration for this poem.

The Catch

God’s own people, Christ’s own church

Are knots in the fishers net

And the strength of one is the strength of all

As each in place is set

God casts us in His ocean

To bring a mighty haul

Of fish that may be swimming by

Not knowing Him at all

A single knot can’t do it

It takes the entire net

Tied tight, and bound together

Encircling all the fish they get

God placed each knot as needed

No plan to make them match

But placed where they're best suited

For bringing in the catch

So tightly bound and woven strong

We comb the deepest sea

And gather in all that will come

So God can set them free
